Frank Everitt President

Frank Started working in the Forest Industry in 1971 and was elected to a full-time position with the local Union in 1979. He has been active for 40 years in the Union and communities of Quesnel and Prince George. He served on numerous government and private boards, including as a Board of Director for the College of New Caledonia, Board of Director for Spruce Credit Union, Member of the Forestry Roundtable, Trustee for the IWA Pension Plan, Board Member for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind in Prince George, Board Member for Employment Action and Trustee for Health and Welfare plans. Frank was the youngest elected President of the IWA and he is the longest serving elected President in IWA/USW history in Canada, a position he currently holds representing close to 6000 USW members within the local Union. Frank successfully ran for Prince George City Council in 2011 and was re-elected in 2014.


Brian O'Rourke 1st Vice President

Brian started working in the Forest Industry in 1983 employed at Houston Forest Products in Houston BC. He first became involved as Job Steward then Plant Chair Person and Executive Board Member for his operation. In 1997 Brian started working for the Local Union as part-time Business Agent and hired full-time in 1998. Brian represented our membership as a WCB Advocate prior to the 2003 Officers election where he successfully ran and was elected to the position of Financial Secretary for the local Union. In 2015 Brian was elected as the 1st Vice President. He is also Health and Safety Director and sits as a Trustee on Health and Welfare Plans and the IWA Forest Industry Long term Disability Plan.


Rod Park 2nd Vice President

Rod worked in the Forest Industry from 1983 until being hired by the Local Union in 1998. While employed at Tackama Forest Products in Fort Nelson BC, Rod was actively involved on the Plant, Safety and EFAP committees in the operation. Rod has served all areas of our local Union in the past 18 years, including bargaining in areas such as transportation, Automotive and Electrical. Rod is also a Health and Welfare Trustee and represents the Local on Right of Reference matters. Rod continues to play an important role as 2nd Vice and Business Agent with the local union team of officers.


Dan Will 3rd Vice President

Dan has been with the USW for over 30 year’s serving the membership throughout western Canada as a Staff Rep for the District, responsible for mine negotiations, steward training and handling arbitration cases. Dan was hired as BA for the local Union and has accepted the position of 3rd vice president for the local Union bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team of officers of local 1-424.


Don Iwaskow Financial Secretary

Elected as Plant Chairperson for members at Excel Transportation in 2004 and also served as Board member. Don has been a long time Union activist within the Union both in political action and organizing. He also completed a number of courses at the College on Human Resources training. Before his appointment was approved at the local executive board he completed five months of Business agent training also workers WCB advocate trainee. Don brings a strong commitment to the team. Don was elected to the position as Financial Secretary for the local Union


Rhonda Armstrong Recording Secretary

Rhonda is from Houston and completed her apprenticeship and is now a ticketed electrician at Canfor Houston. Rhonda has participated in training offered by the Union and completed courses in taking proper meeting minutes, steward training and bargaining skills. Rhonda has served as warden on the plant committee also held the positions as recording secretary and 2nd vice chairperson. Rhonda accepted the position as recording secretary for the local union her appointment was ratified by the executive board on June 17th 2013.
