USW local 1-424 3rd Vice Shannon Euverman Retires

After 35 years of dedicated service to the members of local 1-424, 3rd Vice President, Sister Shannon Euverman, decided to hang up her hardhat. Sister Euverman started work at Northwood in Houston, now known as Canfor Houston, in 1978. She started her involvement in the Union soon after her employment started; elected as job steward, safety representative then plant chairperson and executive board member. Sister Euverman was also the Local Union WCB advocate for the membership earning the respect of both the members and Worksafe BC adjudicators, for her persistence and commitment to fairness for the members. Sister Euverman also participated in the BC Council for Substance Abuse which is testimony of her commitment to our members and the public in general. Sister Euverman also has grandchildren that will surly take up any free time retirement may present, and still have the time to travel and take in some concerts.

On behalf of the Officers and Staff, we all wish Shannon the very best in the years ahead and extend the appreciation of all the membership and those that have had the pleasure of working with her

Enjoy Sister, the best years are ahead.
